Staff will provide a legislative update on SB 278 (Beall), Senator Beall's proposed $100 billion transportation revenue measure. The FASTER Bay Area coalition will then present an outline of their proposal, followed by a presentation from the Voices for Public Transportation coalition. The Commission will be asked to provide feedback to help guide staff's legislative advocacy on the bill. The potential timing of a regional transportation measure and its relationship to a regional housing funding measure will also be discussed. A discussion of AB 1487 (Chiu, 2019), which authorized MTC and ABAG to place a regional housing revenue measure on the ballot, will occur on January 31st at the joint meeting with ABAG Executive Board members. | | |
